Pinna Nobilis
Pinna Nobilis o Nacchera è il nome del mollusco ritratto nel video qui pubblicato.
È una conchiglia di forma triangolare molto allungata le cui valve sono uguali, appuntite nella parte posteriore che è ben conficcata nel fondale sabbioso e arrotondata nella parte superiore. Generalmente la superficie esterna è molto incrostata mentre l’interno è liscio e lucido. Al suo interno sono ospitati piccoli granchietti e gamberetti. Oltre a loro, vive il mollusco che chiude la conchiglia. Può raggiungere dimensioni notevoli raggiungendo anche i 90 – 100 cm di lunghezza.
Vive nel Mediterraneo in fondali sabbiosi, sabbio-fangosi e tra le distese di Posidone in profondità che vanno da pochi metri fino anche a 40 metri. Si nutre filtrando l’acqua dalle particelle alimentari in essa presenti.
Attualmente è una specie protetta in quanto è ormai in via di estinzione.
